After firefighters from OVFC rescued a skydiver from a tree over the weekend, news of the story swept news media outlets by storm. The story was featured across the United States from San Diego, Las Vegas and Denver to Charlotte, Richmond and Washington DC. The story was first reported by NBC29 and CBS19 in Charlottesville and it took off from there. It made TikTok headlines and was even featured on CTV which is the major news outlet throughout Canada.

Crews that day worked against the clock to make a very difficult rescue and certainly deserved the recognition and attention they received.
