2008 OVFC Parade Judging Results

The 2008 parade results are posted here.

Constitution MVC

May 18 - Orange Volunteers were punched out to Rt. 20 just past Porter Rd. for a motor vehicle collision with entrapment.  Squad 23 arrived with a two vehicle crash with one occupant still in each vehicle, as well as a third patient that had been rapidly extricated by EMS.  Firefighters began stabilizing both vehicles and had to pop the door on one to gain access to the patient.  Engine 23 split their crew to assist with the operation and do a landing zone at the airport for Pegasus.  Pics

Colonial Florist Worker

May 9 - A working fire was reported in the early morning hours at Colonial Florist in Gordonsville.  Chief 24-1 arrived with heavy fire conditions on the first floor of the business and smoke pouring out of the second floor apartment.  An exterior attack was established due to unsafe conditions inside.  Copious amounts of water were poured inside via handlines, master streams, and the ladder pipe off Truck 23 as the blaze consumed the interior of the building and left it a total loss.  Pictures

Fire at James Madison Museum

April 28 - An early morning fire alarm at the James Madison Museum was soon upgraded to a full assignment when smoke was discovered coming from the attic.  Engine 23 arrived and quickly laddered the building, gaining access through a louver opening on side “Alpha” of the structure.  Using the TIC, it was determined that there was a small electrical fire in the attic.  The fire was soon extinguished and crews remained on scene for nearly two hours conducting overhaul.  Pics

Lahore Structure

February 28 - Orange Volunteers were dispatched for a reported chimney fire on Lahore Rd., but the call was soon upgraded to a working structure fire.  Engine 23 arrived with smoke showing from the roof eves around the chimney on side “Delta” and a crosslay was deployed for an interior attack.  Once inside, the Engine’s crew found fire in the wall around the chimney and was able open the wall and ceiling up to get a quick knock on the fire, containing it to the area of the chimney.  Tanker 23 and Truck 23, as well as Mine Run Firefighters, assisted with overhaul operations.
