VIRGINIA BURN LAW

This is a reminder that Virginia’s 4:00 PM Burn Law goes into effect February 15th. The 4 PM ban comes into effect each spring during period of extreme fire danger. The 4 PM ban remains in effect until April 30th. Burning debris continues to be the leading cause of forest fires in the Commonwealth. The information below pertains specifically to the burn law:

Associate Member Jessica Gredler, February 05

This month we sat down with Second Assistant Chief Jason Morris to ask him a few questions about being a volunteer firefighter with OVFC.

No Caption OVFC receives new Gear Washer and Dryer System

February 05

Orange Volunteer Fire Company was recently a recipient to a new gear washer and dryer system. Our old system was pushing 30 years old and was extremely outdated and worn out.

This new system will help our firefighters clean their gear properly so the gear lasts longer and the is cleaned of all toxic chemicals it absorbs in fire.

OVFC Responds to Commercial Fire Monday Afternoon

Chief Whit Jacobs, February 05

Yesterday around 1 PM, OVFC and multiple other agencies responded to a fire at a local cleaners. The fire remained contained to small area but lingering smoke caused moderate damage to the building. OVFC thanks local agencies for their assistance with this fire.

No injuries were reported and the fire remains under investigation by County Officials.... (Full Story)

The citizens that have attended the fire academy over the last few weeks have been busy.

Night 5- Citizens took part and learned about the different fire hoses that are used in the fire service. They learned specific techniques and strategies to be able to operate a fire hose.
